A poem of loss and rebuilding.
What happens when we lose our human connection?
Cast aside by capitalism’s blind indiscretion.
We’ve already crossed over the technological intersection,
As we stare into the black mirrors of our own reflections.
Our climate, she burns, yet we decide profits over people
Displacing communities, refugees seen as unequal
At its core, our system is built on a foundation of exploitation
Yet is that really how we want to think of our own human creations?
Human bonds bring us together, allow for peace and understanding
We share stories, cultures, and instill a sense of caring
About a world bigger than ourselves, one outside of a screen
Where our actions are more impactful than for just you and me.
It’s time we rebuild our human connections,
Our sense of community to reestablish a direction
In which we as no more than humans can live as a collection.
